About Me
Hi, I'm Karen!
I am a certified menstrual cycle coach and women's hormone health advocate.
I help women reconnect with their body and restore their radiance and vitality.
Using tools like body literacy, menstrual cycle awareness, lifestyle and nutrition, embodiment, and mindfulness, I guide women to connect with their body’s cyclic nature and educate them about their hormones. This helps them uncover patterns within their unique physiology and find solutions for their menstrual and hormone health challenges.
My Story
Like many women, I used to see the menstrual cycle as an inconvenient (but unavoidable) part of my life. I only thought about it when I was on my period - the rest of the time, it was out of sight, out of mind. Sound familiar?
In 2016, I discovered menstrual cycle awareness, and it was a lightbulb moment for me. I couldn't believe no one had ever taught me about this before — it made SO much sense! Having just come off the mini pill and with a history of ignoring my body’s signals, discovering menstrual cycle awareness felt like divine timing. It truly sparked my journey and growth as a woman.
Menstrual cycle awareness has taught me how to connect with my body and trust in my innate feminine power and wisdom.
Not long after, I discovered body literacy — learning to observe, chart, and interpret an ovulatory menstrual cycle. This empowered me to advocate for my body, health, and wellbeing in a society where women’s menstrual concerns are often dismissed and their pain is normalised.
What is menstrual cycle awareness?
Menstrual cycle awareness is about being mindful of the state of your body, heart, and mind on any given day of your cycle.
Throughout the entire menstrual cycle, from your period to ovulation and back again, it is about staying connected with your body and identifying your cyclical ups and downs (which aren’t random once you recognise them)!
Menstrual cycle awareness helps you harness the strengths within your cycle and prepares you for more vulnerable days when extra self-care is needed.
It’s a simple, compassionate, and powerful practice that encourages you to tune in and listen to your body, allowing you to love and care for yourself, no matter how you’re feeling. This practice is about accepting yourself as you are—no more pushing and striving, wondering why you could do something easily last week but feel like crap this week (okay, hands up, who’s been there?!).
Having cyclical awareness provides much-needed clarity and insight into the natural rhythm and seasons of your cycle. You’ll discover where your superpowers lie (yes, everyone has them, including you), when to maximize your strengths, where you struggle most, and when it’s crucial to step back and practice self-care.
